More than a coffee-table book, Tom Bianchi's On the Couch is part of a larger, ongoing Internet project. The book's photos started as a set of serial images on the erotic photographer's Web site, TomBianchi.com. Each color photo features a large, comfortable-looking brown leather sofa that resides high on a hill in Bianchi's San Francisco living room. Buff nude men pose and play alone and in groups on its aged and supple-looking surface. Shot with a digital camera and under natural light, Bianchi's photos are technically and compositionally strong. Text written by Bianchi accompanies each set and tells us a little something about the model or shoot.
